1) So Dad yelled at Holly for violating her curfew. Dad never yells about anything. It was mostly him talking very loudly, but it was still scary. I’ve only heard him yell once or twice.
2) Free Rice offers, well, free rice to people in developing countries. The website offers a vocabulary game where for each word you guess correctly, you donate a certain amount of grains (usually 20). Not only do you get smarter, but also more humble!
3) I don’t know why the “guys with eyeliner” or makeup trend is so popular, but it’s interesting. I personally think guys should only wear it if they go all the way … or are rockstar pinups. Otherwise, carry a murse with foundation, concealer, lipstick, maybe some blush.
-See you guys later! -Henry
NEXT WEEK’S STRIPS :: Pam’s blooming fling with the flame-haired stranger puts Willie in an odd position.
1.19.08 – RECAP AND REVIEWS :: Pamela’s Spill, Audrey Hepburn Movies, 1920s Male Hair. January 19, 2008

1) So Pam just bumps into someone and gets a number. Hooray for not trying to look for love, maybe that’s how it should happen. Maybe I should stop trying so hard myself, like everyone else.
2) I adore Audrey Hepburn. She’s a true icon and I think the appropriate way to honor her is to spend an entire weekend watching all of her movies and slumbering in my pjs.
3) I’m going back to guys again. Last time it was boots, now it’s hair. I’m kind of eager to see the resurgence of the chic 1920s style, particularly with men. I think that calls for an investment in pomade ( and maybe oil rags).
Hasta luego, amigos! -Henry
NEXT WEEK’S STRIPS :: Holly and Dad get into a war of the words with curfew times.

1) From listening to Barry, Drew and my Dad’s experiences of being a man, one would think I should be worried about how I may turn out. Quite the opposite. By listening to their stories, I realized I’m just like them in that I have my own story to share, no matter how different I seem. I felt like a guy for once, not a pariah.
2) I love Sia’s powerful, soulful voice. I was really surprised when I learned she was from Australia. I’m addicted to her song, “Day Too Soon.”
3) Boots are back for girls, but I think they should be back in style for guys too. Cowboy boots, ankle boots, combat boots … something different than the predictable squared-pointed dress shoes or trendy tennis I’ve been seeing.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Ciao! -Henry
NEXT WEEK’S STRIPS :: Pam finds love …? Or just a nasty spill?
1.5.08 – RECAP AND REVIEWS :: Straight Hair, Paramore vs. Indie, Britney Spears. January 5, 2008

1) Straight hair is odd. Unlike my normal hair, it moves every time I shake my head. It’s easier to deal with and it’s less of a hassle, but then I had to wash it everyday or it would get too oily. I was mistaken for a girl, sadly.
2) I’ve been listening to Paramore. I don’t really care if they’re indie or not, I just like Hayley’s voice and her style.
3) I can’t believe 2008 begins with another Britney headline. I mentioned her strife to my Dad when he was meditating and, to my surprise, even he knows who she is! Wow.
Anyway, that’s all for now. I’m going to relax and not worry about how my hair looks.
